5 Golden Rules to Prevent COD Returns

Sri Lankan couriers charge a 1.5x return shipping fee on refused parcels. If delivery is Rs. 500, a return costs you Rs. 750 in out-of-pocket cash plus wasted packaging. Here is how top sellers protect their cashflow:

1. Never Dispatch to Dummy Repeating Digits

Numbers like 0777777777 or 0712345678 are almost always generated by bored pranksters or bots. CodFlow automatically blocks these before waybill generation.

2. Always Confirm Order via WhatsApp Before Packing

Send a quick automated WhatsApp confirmation message with the total COD amount. If the buyer doesn't reply or has a disabled WhatsApp, pause fulfillment until verified.

3. Collect Rs. 500 Delivery Advance for High-Risk Orders

When CodFlow Fraud Radar shows a customer with under 70% delivery reputation or past refusal logs, politely ask for a Rs. 500 bank or Payzy deposit to cover return risk.

4. Provide Real-Time Tracking Link on WhatsApp

Share your CodFlow public tracking link (codflow.lk/tracking?waybill=...) with your customer so they can see rider assignments and have cash ready at their door.

5. Report Every Non-Accepting Buyer to the Network

Whenever an order is returned due to customer refusal, log it under the "Report" tab. This ensures the customer cannot victimize other Sri Lankan merchants without being warned.
